Pinterest is a blogsite that enables you to create a virtual pinboard of images and ideas that suite your fancy.
Below is the story of how Pinterest helped me overcome my indecisiveness and eventually help me to make an important decision.
On top of being a lady, I'm also a Virgo, which makes me more indecisive than the next. The true depth of my indecisiveness came to light when I moved out of my room into my sister's old and larger room. Being an individual of the "creative type", I had to redo the room-start from scratch- and rebuild the perfect room.
I was left with a blank canvas. Which is ok if you know what direction you want to go in, in terms of design. My problem is that being extremely indecisive coupled with a blank canvas and millions of options is a combination to drive me crazy.
I'd been "pinning" (which can become addictive) for a few weeks then already. So, I began to browse the decor section to see what options were out there. Some time after that I decided to go and look at what I'd collected and try as best I could to come to a decision... On paint... at least. I opened the page, went to my "For the home" board, which contained all the decor I had pinned.
While waiting for the page to load I checked my phone and answered some messages- all the time ignoring the screen. As I looked up from my phone and saw the screen with all the pictures loaded, I got a bit of a shock. But in a good way like when you bite into a banana cupcake and the centre is actually peanut butter!
What I mean to say is that the screen in front of me showed me a consistent colour scheme for decor. Mostly dark painted walls with bright white skirting and furniture. Thanks to Pinterest I got a chance to catch a glimpse of what was going on in my mind-laid out in pin board form on the screen.
I credit Pinterest for helping me overcome this seemingly overwhelming problem of indecisiveness. After this epiphany I felt that I had gone into a therapist's office off loaded my problem and have that therapist help me introspect to get the answers I wanted.
Not only that but if you're ever having a bad day Pinterest can fix that too- go to the pets or humour section or even the inspirational quotes section.
